Inserts for stainless steel processing

To meet stringent application requirements, sumitomo provides a series of insertion levels and coatings for the RHSX series. The circular pocket design of RHSX eliminates insertion rotation during aggressive processing. AHCM200 is a CHVD class with excellent wear resistance and heat resistance, suitable for stainless steel milling. The AHCM300 is a PHVD class with high balance of wear and anti-fracture properties and is the first recommendation of 300 series of stainless steel milling.

Two flutes designed for high performance steel, alloy and tool steel. The “X” type of knife allows some side walls to be generated, from the cutting edge to the surface of the standard ISO soldering handle without sidewall interference. Anti-rotation design prevents insert damage being locked in three locations.

The optimized cutting edge geometry minimizes the cutting force and provides excellent surface finish. High precision insertion provides reliable repeatability (within 0.0002) to simplify the milling process of complex three-dimensional work. Radius is less than 0.0006 “produce ideal surface finish.
